An exploration in texture.
Magic Mix started the way a lot of good things do: in the kitchen, by making something simple taste a little more special.
Created by chef Petra Knapp, founder of Native Provisions in the Columbia River Gorge, Magic Mix is a collection of crunchy finishing blends designed to add texture, flavor, and a little surprise to everyday food.
Each blend is made to be used generously — over eggs, roasted vegetables, salads, grains, fish, meat, dips, yogurt, toast, and whatever else is on the table.
The idea is simple: start with good ingredients, keep things unfussy, and add one finishing touch that makes the whole dish better.
Made in small batches and inspired by seasonal cooking, gathering around the table, and the flavors Petra uses every day at Native Provisions, Magic Mix is pantry food meant to be seen, shared, and sprinkled on everything.
Sourcing & how to use it
Magic Mix is made with thoughtfully sourced nuts, seeds, spices, and botanicals chosen for flavor, texture, and quality. Some ingredients come from close to home in the Pacific Northwest, while others are sourced from the places where they grow best. The goal isn’t to force everything to be local — it’s to use great ingredients with care and let each one do what it does best.
These blends are made to be finishing touches, not complicated recipes. Sprinkle them over eggs, roasted vegetables, salads, grains, fish, meat, yogurt, dips, toast, fruit, or whatever is already on your table. A spoonful adds crunch, contrast, and another layer of flavor without making dinner more complicated.
Inspired by the long history of using spices as more than flavor in both Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, ingredients like ginger, turmeric, coriander, sesame, and warming spices have traditionally been used to support digestion and balance. Magic Mix isn’t medicine — just delicious food made with ingredients that have been valued for centuries.
